Dental Implant FAQs for Wollaton Dental Care

Dental implant costs vary depending on how many teeth need replacing and whether any additional procedures (such as bone grafts or sinus lifts) are required. A single dental implant in Nottingham at our practice in Wollaton typically start from £3200 with a clear, fixed fee and full estimates provided after a consultation with one of our implant dentists. We offer 0% finance and flexible payment options to make treatment more affordable.

Suitability for dental implants depends on your oral health, bone levels and general health. At your consultation we take digital scans and complete a full assessment to confirm whether implants are right for you and what type of treatment would give you the best long-term result. Implants are not the right treatment for everyone and we will be honest and transparent about this at your consultation giving you useful and accurate advice.

Yes. We offer 0% interest options (subject to status) for treatment plans over £5000. Many patients choose finance to make treatment manageable while still accessing long-lasting, high-quality implant care.

Dental implants are designed to be a long-term solution. We provide a five year guarantee on our implants but they are designed to last much longer with good oral hygiene and regular dental health checks.

Dental implants replace teeth at the root, creating a fixed and secure foundation that looks and functions more like a natural tooth. Bridges rely on neighbouring teeth for support, which may require those teeth to be modified. Dentures rest on the gums and can sometimes loosen or move. Implants are the only solution that preserves bone, offers long-term stability and do not rely on other teeth for support.

Most patients report that implant treatment is more comfortable than expected. The procedure is carried out using local anaesthetic and you may experience mild pain and swelling for a few days afterwards. Recovery times vary, but many people return to normal activities within 48 hours. Our team will provide full aftercare advice to ensure smooth healing.

A straightforward single implant often takes around 3-4 months from placement to fitting the final crown, depending on healing. More complex cases, such as multiple implants or bone grafting, may take longer.

Yes. Implants can replace a single missing tooth, several teeth in a row, or an entire arch. For multiple missing teeth, we may use two or more implants to support a fixed bridge. For patients missing most or all teeth, full-arch implant solutions such as All-on-4 provide a secure and natural smile. We do not currently offer all-on-4 implants at our practice.

All-on-4 is a full-arch implant treatment using four to six implants to support a complete set of fixed teeth. In many cases, temporary teeth can be fitted on the same day as the implants, so you leave with a functioning smile. After healing, a permanent, custom-made set of teeth is fitted for long-term results. We do not currently provide all-on-4 implants at the practice.

Modern implant dentistry offers many solutions. If you have limited bone, options may include bone grafting, sinus lifts, or using alternative implant designs that work in areas of reduced bone. Many patients who were declined elsewhere can still have implant treatment after a proper assessment. If we feel implants are possible but that you need more complex treatment, we will tell you this and help you find the right specialist practice who can help you, even if we can’t.

Dental implants are a well-established and safe treatment with high success rates. Like any procedure, there are small risks such as infection or implant failure, but careful planning, modern digital scanning, and good aftercare significantly reduce these risks. We discuss all options and safety measures at your consultation.

We do not currently offer sedation for our implant treatment but find that with good communication and TLC, our patients cope very well without it.

Implant-supported teeth are designed to match the shape, colour and function of natural teeth. Once fitted, they feel secure and stable unlike removable dentures and function as closely to natural teeth when biting, chewing and speaking as is possible.

Caring for implants is similar to caring for natural teeth: regular brushing, flossing or interdental cleaning, and routine dental hygiene visits. We provide a personalised aftercare plan so you can maintain your implants for the long term.
