Once we have received your information, one of the team will get in touch with you within one working day to arrange your first appointment.
As a new patient, this will be a comprehensive assessment. We allow 40 minutes for our new patient dental health checks to give you plenty of time with your dentist for a thorough examination and to answer any questions you have. This has a one off cost of £110 and includes any necessary X-rays and assessments required. We take an £80 deposit at the time of booking with the balance being paid at the end of your first visit.
Haven‘t seen a dentist for a while? Don’t worry!
You are not alone. You won’t be judged or lectured. We want to help you. We’ll start by listening to what’s worrying you. Assess things gently and explain your options. It is really common for us to see patients who haven’t visited a dentist for many years or who feel embarrassed or anxious about visiting us. We can help you and talk to you at a pace that suits you. Nothing happens without your say so.
What happens at my first appointment?
At this first appointment, you will meet with one of our dentists who will discuss your dental history with you and carry out an assessment of your oral health. If any treatment is required at the first appointment, the options will be discussed with you so you can make decision about the best outcome for you. Our first new patient assessment appointments are usually just that-for an assessment and to plan what happens next so please don’t worry or think you are going to need to rush into treatment.
What happens if I need treatment?
Once your assessment has taken place, your dentist will discuss with you what care is advised and give you all the information you need in order that you can make an informed decision about your treatment. At this point (or sometimes a short while after the appointment, if your treatment plan is complex) you will be given a clear and concise treatment plan. This is a written plan which shows what we recommend, your options and exactly what each option will cost, along with the appointments advised. If your care is a little more complicated, occasionally an additional appointment is needed in order to further discuss your treatment. If you have additional questions after the appointment is over, please get in touch either over the phone or by email. Our team are always happy to answer any queries you might have.
Do I have to book my appointments for treatment straight away?
Absolutely not. If your treatment is straight forward, you understand all that has been discussed and you are happy to book then we are happy for you to do so. Sometimes however treatment plans are more complicated and your dentist may require more time to plan your bespoke treatment plan. Other times, you simply may need longer to digest the information you have received before making a decision about your treatment. We are always understanding if you need time to consider your options.
What happens if I need extensive treatment and it is expensive? Who talks me through the options?
We understand this can be daunting for people. If you need a lot of treatment, all of the options will be thoroughly explained to you. Any questions you have, will be answered in full before committing to any treatment. This may mean you need an additional review appointment with your dentist (free of charge) or to discuss your options with another member of our team. We can often break down costs over the duration of your treatment (for complex treatment this may be several months). We also have finance options available which our team can talk you through. We are here to help you make your treatment as accessible as possible.
Can I come just for an opinion?
Yes of course! People often would like ‘just a second opinion’ and we’re fine with that too. We will give you an unbiased and honest view and our advice on what treatment we would recommend.
